When it comes to staying on top of our game, we regularly travel to Europe to compete and work with reputable trainers and field trial judges.
This not only allows us to gain inspiration and test our skills, but also to stay up-to-date with the latest training techniques and standards.
We also keep educating ourselves by participating in seminars specializing in gundog training and K-9 conditioning, where everything from basic obedience to advanced training, and training problems and their solutions are covered. This allows us to offer our clients a high-quality service.
At Cantrell’s Gundogs, we have over a decade of experience in the dog training and care industry.
Our journey began in 2010 as a simple dog-walking and sitting business, and over the years we have grown to specialize in training gundogs for hunting, competing and companionship.
With years of experience in dog psychology and gundog training, we have honed our skills to provide top-notch training for all breeds.
Our owner and head trainer, Simona, has worked for many reputable breeders and has trained a variety of breeds, giving her a deep understanding of dog psychology and behavior. These experiences, combined with her passion for dogs, has transitioned her into a full-time dog trainer.
We take education seriously, which is why Simona became a student of the Certified Canine Fitness Trainer (CCFT) program covered by the University of Tennessee in 2020, which she successfully completed. Additionally, she holds a Certificate of Completion for the BLCC online course: Psoas/Shoulder Injury Prevention. She also has obtained an internationally recognized Certificate of Completion for the Canine Wilderness Emergency First Aid Course. This way, she can offer the best of the best care for the gundogs in our training programs.
She is also a member of Blackthorn Academy online gundog training school as well as Working Retriever SK Club. Because Simona believes that there is always something to learn, she is regularly attending gundog trainings, seminars and webinars held by reputable european gundog trainers.
Our training methods are grounded in the latest research on dog behavior and psychology.
We believe that positive reinforcement is the most effective way to teach a dog new behaviors.
Our training focuses on building trust and a strong bond between the dog and their owner.
We understand that each dog is unique, so we tailor our training to the specific needs and personality of each dog.
Building strong client relationships is at the core of our philosophy. We provide ongoing support even after training is complete to ensure the success of both our clients and their canine companions.
We trust the natural abilities of retrievers and their will to please, and use the proven principles of British retriever training in our gundog programs.
